God through His Word calls us to love Him with all our mind, as well as our heart and soul, to redeem the time, to do what we do with all our might, and to be good stewards of all that God gives us. Each of these exhortations encourages us towards godly stewardship of our trip experience; not only to use the time to serve others, but as a time to grow and learn.
Based out of Southern Ontario, Faithworks sends Service and Learning Teams to various locations around the world. Teams meet up with partner organizations who are involved in development work long term.
Besides coordinating work for the “service” element of a trip, Faithworks emphasises learning opportunities before, during and following the trip. We consider the “learning” part of the experience to be an important element of our team members’ commitment to be a good steward of the resources that the Lord has graciously provided for them to participate on a trip.
In the past we have sent teams to Nicaragua, and Mississippi. Recently we have been sending teams to partner organizations in Mexico, Kentucky, Japan, and Brazil.
Do you have the desire to work in God’s kingdom and serve through your works?

While we help organize short-term service trips abroad, we recognize that this is not the only way in which one can serve the Lord. There are a lot of opportunities of service, both within your home church and your home community! If you do not know how to get connected, we encourage you to speak to the leaders in your church. Also, check out Give-a-Hand, which is a website where volunteers can be connected to the local places that are looking for volunteers.
